ABOUT THE CLUB
A PERFECTLY BALANCED OFFERING
Balance’s 4,200 SQM facility in Flensburg, in the north of Germany, provides everything for its members’ health and wellbeing. Its offering includes a cardio area (called the Fit Hall), group classes, indoor cycling, an indoor running track, a women-only area, saunas, a solarium, and a terrace. The star feature is the strength area, called the Athletic Hall, filled with Hammer Strength equipment.
INSPIRING WELLNESS THE CHALLENGE
The Balance team met with their consultants and quickly saw that there was a need for a new fitness and wellness gym in Flensburg. With the aim of creating a quality, full-offering site, they started looking for a location and reached out to Life Fitness to start building the concept and gym design. The space, a new building of over 4,200 SQM, presented a lot of possibilities to create something inspiring.
The guiding vision for the project was Balance’s motto: Care is our Strength!

With fees starting at only €29.99 per month, the gym is accessible and welcoming to members of diverse ages with varying goals.
FOUR FLOORS OF FITNESS THE OFFERING
Spread over four different floors, the facility includes high-end fitness equipment (including Life Fitness, ICG, and Hammer Strength), multiple group class offerings, relaxation areas, a terrace, saunas, and more. It even has an indoor sprint track, something unique in the region.
Design elements
Each area has been designed to provide an immersive experience, according to the activity that takes place there.
- The indoor cycling room provides a high-intensity atmosphere with state-of-the-art lights and sound.
- The changing rooms and relaxation area are minimalist, elegant, and calming.
- The strength area has its own vibe: natural light, art on the walls, and marks on the flooring for functional training.

The gym’s two main spaces, the Fit Hall and Athletic Hall, feature best-in-class equipment.
Fit Hall
The main fitness hall offers Life Fitness and Milon equipment, specially integrated for a seamless experience:
- Life Fitness Elevation cardio with Discover SE3 HD consoles offers the best cardio-training experience in the market. The SE3 HD console has the latest connectivity and entertainment options, including Life Fitness On Demand in German for the entire cardio line.
- Milon provides a connected electronic experience that helps members train at their pace. The team at Balance highly valued the digital integration between Milon and Life Fitness to provide the best possible experience to their members through a single app.

Athletic Hall
The Athletic Hall is one of the most impressive recent Hammer Strength installations.
A 600 SQM area is dedicated to athletic training, with everything members could need for strength and conditioning.
There are HD Elite Half Racks and platforms for the most demanding lifters, paired with Hammer Strength accessories such as barbells, bumpers, and plates.
An HD Athletic Bridge creates an incredibly versatile area:
- Several exercisers can train at the same time
- An optimal space to run group sessions, combining strength, bodyweight, accessories, and floor exercises
- Strength training stations (for squats and other barbell exercises)
This is complemented by the SYNRGY360 system, which also creates a perfect space for functional and small-group training. The entire space is further enhanced by the offering of benches, dumbbells, and Hammer Strength plate-loaded and Hammer Strength Select equipment.
In terms of gym interior design, all products have been configured in black and platinum frames with chestnut colour upholstery.
THE STRENGTH OF CARING THE CONCLUSION
The slogan ‘Care is our Strength!’ belongs to Balance but it also describes the design and equipment work provided by the Life Fitness group to make this first-rate gym a reality. Balance achieved what it wanted: a successful health club where members feel valued, motivated, and happy to be part of the community.
As a result of this care, the gym has one of the highest ratings on Google in the region. (4.4/5). The reviewers most value the quality of the equipment, the space and lack of overcrowding, the personal touch from the staff, and the full range of offerings beyond fitness. It is, as planned, a perfectly balanced wellbeing center.
